AMPAC Contributions

IMPACT works with AMA's PAC, AMPAC, to secure significant campaign contributions for Tennessee's Congressional candidates who support organized medicine. In 2008 we saw a significant financial involvement by AMPAC through contributions and other support to candidates running for federal office. In particular, AMPAC and IMPACT both worked hard in support of the successful election of TMA-member Dr. Phil Roe in the 1st Congressional District's August primary who went on to a resounding general election win in November.

In the August, 2010 primary, AMPAC supported Steve Cohen in his successful Democratic primary race to continue to serve the 9th Congressional District but AMPAC's support was not enough to help Dr. Ron Kirkland in the three-way Republican primary race for the open 8th Congressional District seat.
